Look at the above pictures. They are single countable nouns.

Understand the difference between using  "A"  and  "AN"

             "A"  before a CONSONANT sound. (MEI EZHUTHU in Tamil)

             "AN" before a VOWAL sound. (UYIR EZHUTHU in Tamil) 

                       (All the 12 vowels of Tamil (Uyir Ezhuthukkal) are there in ENGLISH also. (with slight differences).
                       The letters A, E, I, O, U>> produce 20 different vowel sounds in English.



SOME  USES of  "THE"

               i) TO SPECIFY>>     The girl in Blue Jeans is my friend.
                                                                            
                (The sentence specifies the particular girl among the three.)

               ii) ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD (UNIQUE)
             The Sun                              The Taj Mahal
                 
             
             iii) REPEAT >> Mention the same again
             I saw a child in the park. The child was playing with a toy car.
     The toy car was red.
                                                                         
"a child" (1st time)    >>    "The child" (2nd time repeated)
"a toy car" (1st time) >>    "The toy car" (2nd time repeated)

              iv) BEFORE ORDINAL NUMBERS

              v) BEFORE SUPERLATIVE DEGREE >>> (Let's Learn this later)
    (Superlatives end in "est" for example: greatest, longest, highest, etc.)
            Everest is the tallest peak.          Abishek is the tallest boy.
